About Us

In 1868, our forefathers with little money came together and built this church. Less than a year later all building debts were paid. With the same spirit of determination they came together again in 1954 and excavated the basement by hand. It is this determination, still possessed today, that has given us a house of worship for all.

The First United Church of Christ, in it's original building, is recognized as the oldest congregation in Plymouth. The Marshall County Historical Society declared it a landmark in 1983. Today many of our members have grown up in this church, while several others are new to both the community and the church. Regardless of our pasts, we have come together to form a strong family of faith. This church is our spiritual home. It is here that we worship and praise our Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ. It is in fellowship with Him and each other that we continue to grow and learn. We invite you to consider this your spiritual home as well.
